Bryan Doerries

Bryan Doerries is a writer, director, and translator. He founded Theater of War, a project that presents readings of ancient Greek plays to the military community to initiate conversations about the visible and invisible wounds of war. His books include The Theater of War: What Ancient Greek Tragedies Can Teach Us Today, his translations of Greek tragedies, All That You’ve Seen Here is God and a graphic novel, The Odyssey of Sergeant Jack Brennan. In 2017, he was named Public Artist in Residence for NYC, a joint appointment with the NYC Department of Veterans’ Services and Department of Cultural Affairs
