David Mills is the author of The Dream Detective and The Sudden Country, a book-prize finalist. He has received fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Arts Link, Henry James Fellowship, the Hughes/Knight Poetry Award and a BRIO award. He has an MFA from Warren Wilson College and an MA from New York University. His poems have appeared in Ploughshares, Jubilat, Fence, Vermont Review, Callaloo, Transitions, Rattapallax, Hanging Loose, Aspeers, Prairie Review and Brooklyn Rail. He has also had poems displayed at the Venice Biennale. He lived in Langston Hughes’ landmark Harlem home for three years.
