Erna Brodber


Erna Brodber is the author of Myal, Woodside, Pear Tree Grove P.O., Nothing’s Mat, The Second Generation of Freemen in Jamaica, 1907-1944 among others. A 2017 Windham-Campbell Prize recipient, she has, over the course of a four-decade career, established herself as a major voice in Caribbean literature. A winner of a Prince Claus Award, the Musgrave Medal, and the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, Brodber holds an Honorary D.Litt. from the University of West Indies at Mona.
