Hisham Matar


Hisham Matar is the author of In the Country of Me and Anatomy of a Disappearance. His memoir the Return won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award. His works have been short-listed for the Man Booker Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and won numerous international prizes, including the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize, a Commonwealth First Book Award, the Premio Flaiano and the Premio Gregor von Rezzor. Hisham’s works have been translated into twenty-nine languages. Born in New York City to Libyan parents, Hisham teaches at Barnard College.
