Jim Holt is the author of Why Does the World Exist?, which was named one of the ten best books of 2012 by the New York Times Book Review and was a finalist for the 2012 National Book Critics Circle award for general nonfiction; Why Does the World Exist? has been published in 20 languages worldwide. His new book “Einstein, Gödel, and Bullshit: Excursions in the Higher Thought” will be published next spring by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. He is at work on a book about free will, weakness of will, self-knowledge, and happiness, titled “Living (Theory and Practice).”
