Jimena Canales

Jimena Canales is the author of A Tenth of a Second and The Physicist and The Philosopher: Einstein, Bergson, and the Debate That Changed Our Understanding of Time. She is the Thomas M. Siebel Chair in the History of Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Canales writes for general audiences in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and WIRED, as well as art venues such as Pompidou Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the 11th Shanghai Biennale. She received her MA and PhD from Harvard University and was awarded the Prize for Young Scholars of the International Union of the History and Philosophy of Science.
