Óscar Martínez

Óscar Martínez is a Salvadoran journalist for and co-founder of Sala Negra. He is the author of The Beast and A History of Violence, chronicling the high level of violence in northern Central America and the harrowing journey of undocumented Central Americans through Mexico. In 2016, he was awarded the International Press Freedom Award by the Committee to Protect Journalists and the Maria Moors Cabot Prize from Columbia University.
